·1 hr 19 min·5 clips

Gary Parrish picks St. John's, a team he 'hated' months ago, to upset Duke and make a shocking run to the Final Four.

Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander host the 'I Own College Basketball' podcast's annual bracket preview episode. They clarify this is distinct from their bracket breakdown show. The hosts begin by acknowledging listener feedback and social media criticism about their picks. They outline the episode's structure: picking every game in the published brackets, region by region, starting with the East. Parrish and Norlander make first-round picks for the East Region, including St. John's over Northern Iowa and debates on South Florida vs. Louisville. They advance to second-round and Sweet 16 matchups, with Parrish controversially picking St. John's to beat Duke and eventually reach the Final Four. The hosts move to the South Region, discussing Florida, Houston, and potential upsets like VCU over North Carolina. They analyze the West Region, highlighting Arizona, Purdue, and BYU. The Midwest Region discussion includes the breaking news of Alabama guard Holloway's felony marijuana arrest and its implications. Throughout, they interject personal anecdotes, like Norlander's social media experience and Parrish's relationship with St. John's fandom. The episode concludes with each host revealing their full Final Four and national champion predictions: Parrish has St. John's, Houston, Arizona, and Michigan, with Houston winning; Norlander has UConn, Houston, Arizona, and Iowa State, with Houston winning. They promote upcoming shows and bracket challenges.
