JonBenet Ramsey Part II: Christmas Day

·51 min·3 clips
The pineapple bowl, Burke's fingerprints, and JonBenet's stomach contents are placed in the same narrow window.
The case rewinds before the call. Krause starts with Burke's corrected age, then moves from the December 26 emergency call back into the days before it. The earlier call will not sit quietly. In his reading, the December 23 call from the Ramsey home feels darker because it comes before the public version of the story is supposed to begin. Wealth sits around the edges of the holiday calendar. The Ramseys are described as wealthy and influential in Boulder, moving through events they hosted or attended while the narration looks for cracks under the Christmas display. Then Santa enters the picture. Bill McReynolds gets examined through rumor, contradiction, and timing, especially the claim about a promised visit after Christmas and what can actually be pinned down. The bear turns out to be less solid than the rumor around it. Krause rejects the alleged note inside the stuffed Santa bear and ties the bear instead to JonBenet's Little Miss Christmas pageant win on December 14. Still, he does not pretend the uncertainty is gone. The mother of one of JonBenet's school friends is said to have heard her mention a special visit from Santa after Christmas, and the episode lets that sit there, uncomfortable but unproven. McReynolds keeps carrying strange weight. He gave Burke a simple Christmas card at the party, apparently only telling him to be good, while the narration notes that McReynolds' own daughter had been kidnapped in 1974. The facts keep circling back. Christmas morning shifts to Burke waking his parents around 6:27, after Patsy had told him not to wake them before 6. His near-ten age matters here because the host treats it as a small change with a different emotional charge. The ending returns to what is missing: JonBenet's name in Patsy's 911 call, and again in the nearly three-page ransom note that threatens her without naming her.
