The Glorious Blessed Hope of the Church with Skip Hietzig

March 21, 2026
Skip Heitzig joins Tim as a familiar and trusted Bible teacher. Tim introduces him as the senior pastor of Calvary Church in Albuquerque and says Skip's Revelation teaching has strengthened his confidence in Scripture. The mood is warm without turning slick. Even the lamb and lion motif on the set gives the conversation a simple focus: both men keep pointing back to Jesus Christ. Skip receives the welcome easily, and Tim moves into the rapture as the Church's glorious, blessed hope. Skip keeps the argument close to the text. He says reading the Bible at face value leads to a rapture, a tribulation, Christ's return, a literal thousand-year kingdom, and the eternal state. He also warns against reading preferred ideas into Scripture. For him, exegesis and eisegesis are not technical trivia. They shape the whole way someone builds end-times doctrine. Tim then asks the pastoral version of the question. Lamb & Lion Ministries rejects date-setting, but he wants to know what signs suggest believers are living in the season of the Lord's return. Skip calls Israel the mega sign because temple prophecies and Ezekiel's Gog and Magog invasion assume a real nation of Israel. He is not trying to set a calendar. He is calling for watchfulness as these promises appear, in their reading, to move closer. The ending turns direct and evangelistic. Tim says the rapture should be the listener's blessed hope. He speaks to believers longing for Christ and ties that longing to the promised crown of righteousness. Then he addresses those who do not know Jesus as Savior and Lord, praying that the conversation stirs a desire to join those crying Maranatha, come, Lord Jesus.

As heard by us

An earnest, plainspoken case for the church's hope and Christ's return.

This passage treats the church's blessed hope as more than a slogan, and that gives the discussion some weight. Skip Heitzig argues for a pre-tribulation, premillennial reading of Revelation in plain language, and the host keeps pace with calm agreement.
