二零二六年四月三日 - 聖週星期五 救主受難紀念

·34 min·3 clips
A voice cries out in abandonment, "I am like a discarded broken pot," before surrendering its soul into God's hands.
The episode begins with a prayer from Psalm 31, expressing feelings of abandonment and trust in God. It then transitions to a reading from the Letter to the Hebrews, emphasizing Jesus as a high priest who sympathizes with human weakness. The main narrative is the Passion according to John. Jesus is betrayed by Judas and arrested in a garden across the Kidron valley. When Jesus identifies himself to the soldiers, they fall to the ground. Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus, a servant of the high priest, but Jesus tells him to put his sword away. Jesus is taken first to Annas, the father-in-law of the high priest Caiaphas. Peter follows but denies being Jesus's disciple three times while warming himself by a fire. Jesus is interrogated by Annas about his teaching and is struck by a guard for his response. He is then sent to Caiaphas. The Jewish leaders bring Jesus to Pontius Pilate at the praetorium but do not enter to avoid ritual impurity. Pilate questions Jesus about being the King of the Jews. Jesus explains that his kingdom is not of this world and that he came to testify to the truth. Pilate finds no guilt in Jesus and offers to release him, but the crowd demands Barabbas instead. Jesus is scourged, mocked with a crown of thorns and a purple robe, and presented to the crowd. The crowd demands crucifixion. Pilate, pressured by the threat of being seen as no friend of Caesar, hands Jesus over. Jesus carries his cross to Golgotha, where he is crucified between two others. Pilate places a titulus on the cross reading "Jesus the Nazarene, the King of the Jews." Soldiers cast lots for his seamless garment. Jesus sees his mother and the beloved disciple and entrusts them to each other. Knowing all is finished, he says "I thirst," receives vinegar on a sponge, says "It is finished," and gives up his spirit. To hasten death before the Sabbath, the soldiers break the legs of the two crucified with him, but finding Jesus already dead, they pierce his side, bringing forth blood and water. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus take Jesus's body, anoint it with spices, and bury it in a new tomb. The episode ends with a reflective meditation on the scenes of the Passion.
