Ghost in the Shell with Pete Petrusha Part 3

·48 min·4 clips
Pete Petrusha returns to finish creating characters for his Ghost in the Shell RPG, revealing new cybernetic and natural traits.
Character creation gets crunchy right away. After the intro notes, the group goes back to Ghost in the Shell and checks how shell values work for the characters and the Logicoma. The Logicoma gets one and one. It is a small rules moment, but the table does the useful thing: restate the choice until everyone knows what it means in play. Then favors become the good stuff. Pete treats them as a roleplay bond and a design tool, a clean reason another character might like you. The donut bit works because it is silly and practical at the same time. A Logicoma that brings people donuts is funny, and suddenly the favor economy is not floating out there as theory. The quick start version has a variant, tying a limited number of favors to the info warfare specialist, and Pete is still watching which version behaves better at the table. The original version spread favors wider. Every player basically had one, which gave them an obvious way to trigger flashbacks or call on cyber and information resources. That is the useful part. Pete notes that some roleplayers grab flashbacks all the time, while others need the option sitting in front of them before it feels real. A token can do that. Once it is on the table, the move feels usable, spendable, and part of the session. The group keeps filling in character details. The Logicoma picks up the donut guy and thermoptics, then the table drifts into signatures and optional identity choices. Names can wait. Handles and pronouns are there now, while the rest of the character keeps forming in the background. The close shifts into promotion, with a plug for Starwall Odyssey, a playtest actual play about an apartment building that is actually a spaceship.
