The Last Halloween Creepypasta Reading

·23 min·1 clip
The narrator looks back and sees Granny Clark chasing him with a face that is peeling off.
Kayla opens by saying she's back with another creepypasta reading just in time for spooky season and that she wants to get into the video right away instead of rambling. She says the story is from creepypasta.com, titled The Last Halloween, and written by William Delphin. The story follows a narrator who does not celebrate Halloween, keeps the front porch light off, pulls the shades down, and hides in the bedroom when trick-or-treaters come by. The fear behind all of it is Granny Clark, Abigail Clark, known in Hollisfield as the kindest, sweetest old lady in existence. She lives in a little green house at the top of Tamarack Lane, bordering a broad expanse of forest. The narrator goes to her door anyway and hears something moving inside. Heavy, slow footsteps come to the front door, the porch light comes on, and he freezes. Through the small window in the door, he catches a brief glimpse of someone looking out. Then the door creaks open and Granny Clark appears haggard, with sunken eyes, pale features, and a shawl pulled over her head. The narrator stammers out a trick-or-treat greeting and tries to cover for Spencer, who has already slipped into the house. The tension comes from that awkward scramble to keep the silence from giving him away. By the end, the story lands on the idea that the most beloved person Hollisfield has ever known is the monster haunting the narrator's worst nightmares. Kayla closes by saying she liked the twist and thought the story was setting Granny Clark up as a Hansel-and-Gretel type woman from the start, then signs off with her usual invitation to subscribe for more paranormal, spooky, and true-crime-adjacent posts.
