Zaid Nawaz opens by greeting Crispin Balknit and joking about the podcast's familiar apology for inconsistency. He says he is finally back in Stuttgart in person after making the trip from the UK. The two are glad to be recording with proper microphones instead of juggling everything over Zoom or FaceTime. That setup makes it feel like they can get more done while Zaid is in Germany for a couple of weeks, maybe longer. Crispin starts with a driving-safety event in Munich. He drove a GT3 there. He also spent time working on drifting and oversteer, and he links some of that back to what he had already picked up in Sweden during the winter. The conversation then moves toward Villa d'Este and the public day at Villa Urba. They explain that the Villa d'Este day happens on Saturday and that the cars move on for the public day on Sunday, giving visitors a chance to see them too. On the Saturday, Villa Urba also hosts a car meet that draws owners from all over Europe. Zaid and Crispin then shift into the Marcello Gandini tribute arranged by BMW Group Classic after Gandini's death in March. Their Citroën BX is one of 12 Gandini-designed cars invited to take part. Zaid says Benny Voss from BMW Group Classic messaged him on Instagram with the spot. He gets out of a lecture, calls his dad, and they start getting the car ready for Italy. The preparation is hands-on and a little frantic in the way good car trips often are. They fit a new dashboard, new seats, a bit of paintwork, and a new flow divider. Then they set off on a six-hour drive south with two cars so they have a backup if something goes wrong. The drive through Switzerland is soaked by rain, but they make it to Italy in one piece. After washing the BX and parking it up, they wrap with a listener callout, asking people to DM thoughts, photos, and ideas for future topics on Instagram.
