Insurance investigator John Rodney has been searching for fugitive Jim Gary for five years, finally obtaining his photograph just as a series of arson fires plague the city. Boston Blackie investigates both mysteries, discovering the arsonist is a man named Joe Marsh, and that Rodney himself is actually Jim Gary, who set fire to his own rooming house to destroy the last evidence of his identity.
