Episode 318: Hiding the Truth About Vaccine Safety

·44 min
Ron Nedd opens by framing Body Chat as a place for outside-the-box health talk. He is not shy about the point of view. Dr. Steven Nedd joins him for a run through the two national vaccine safety databases. The focus lands first on V-safe. V-safe is described as a CDC phone app launched in December 2020, when the first COVID vaccines rolled out. It began as a voluntary COVID vaccine safety monitoring system. Early on, healthcare workers were asked to report their experiences, including side effects. Later, it expanded to anyone getting a COVID shot. The conversation then turns to what happened to the data. The CDC, they say, refused to release the results to the public, saying it needed to protect patient confidentiality by keeping the data anonymous. Ron and Steven do not buy that explanation. They argue that the data could have been shared with names removed or replaced by initials. From there, the episode broadens into a larger complaint about government agencies and delayed disclosure. Ron brings up the FDA's effort to take up to 75 years to release the data used to license Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, and points listeners back to episode 265 for more on that thread. The brothers then credit attorney Aaron Siri with forcing the issue through two lawsuits. They say it took 463 days and a court order before the V-safe data finally came out. The closing note is simple: the brothers want listeners to have enough information to make informed consent decisions and do their own research.
