Faith is Obedience and Obedience is Faith

March 6, 2025·1 hr 28 min·7 clips
Bishop Richard reveals that faith is obedience and obedience is faith, linking belief directly to action.
Are you ready to obey? That question sits under the whole message. The host takes faith out of the realm of feeling, church language, and good intentions, and puts it where it can be seen: action. When God gives a command, he says, the faithful answer is not arguing, waiting, explaining, or choosing the convenient parts. It is obedience. Tithing carries much of the sermon because money makes the point harder to dodge. The person who says the money is not enough may still end up with nothing when the devourer is at work. Ninety percent, he argues, can expose the heart. If ninety percent is not enough, one hundred percent will not magically become enough for someone thinking unspiritually. He presses the room with a blunt question: why does one person seem to have, while another always needs help and never asks what keeps consuming everything? From there, the message turns into diagnosis. The devourer and the destroyer should not be welcomed through disobedience or selective obedience. Matthew 23:23 becomes the sharp edge: do this, and do not leave that, because the command left undone still matters before God. The tone stays urgent, even when he jokes that they could close and go home. The joke does not soften the sermon; it tightens it. Obedience is the proof. Near the end, the sermon becomes prayer, thanking God for teaching, asking for help where people fall short, and seeking a higher level of obedience. The desire is plain: make God happy, want what God wants, and let the Holy Spirit help the believer obey all things instead of pleasing people.
