The Nightingale

·16 min·1 clip

An empire is made out of gold, which is made out of wanting and the power to give or withhold, leading a new tyrant to seize everything.

Lily the frog narrates a classic fairy tale about an emperor who discovers a nightingale with a magical, healing song. He brings her to his palace, but when replicas of her song are mass-produced, true artistry stagnates. After a tyrant seizes power, the nightingale's song becomes a symbol of pure beauty that cannot be owned or replicated, preserved by a community that values it over gold.
