The Demon Reborn Review

·1 hr 16 min·2 clips

Batman finds empty bottles, soda cans and pizza boxes in Ra's hideout, and the hosts riff on ninjas eating pizza.

1. Batman the Animated Series Podcast reviews The Demon Reborn, a Superman: The Animated Series crossover that aired September 18, 1999. 2. Brothers Alex Robson, a host, and Will Robson, a comic book artist and writer, co-host and open with the March 26, 2026 Kickstarter pre-launch of Will's comic Outbreaks issue four. 3. The episode pairs a credits and trivia rundown with a comedic review, covering the final Superman episode in which Batman appears. 4. The credits cover story by Bruce Timm and Robert Goodman, a script by Rich Fogel, and direction by Dan Riba, plus Olivia Hussey replacing Helen Slater as Talia and Michael Horse replacing George DiCenzo as Ubu. 5. Fun facts include Batman's ears growing longer from the hangar fight onward, Talia's impossibly long shaman staff, and the last Ra's al Ghul and Talia appearance until Batman Beyond season three. 6. They note it is the final time Kevin Conroy and Tim Daly share scenes, since George Newbern replaces Daly in Justice League because of Daly's commitments to the TV series The Fugitive. 7. The hosts also note it is the last Conroy and Dana Delaney scene together after Mask of the Phantasm, and they plan to cover Justice League next to stay in chronological order with Bruce's story. 8. In the review they joke that Ra's has built an immunity to the Lazarus Pit like a weed tolerance, question how he still has 'three fucking teeth', and mock the pizza boxes and soda cans in his hideout as a Ninja Turtles homage. 9. They also question the Batmobile ending up on the train tracks, Superman reading two thin tire marks as a bicycle, his restraints holding him without Kryptonite, and Superman not noticing that the Lois he sees on TV is Talia. 10. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series and DCAU trivia who enjoy joke-heavy commentary will like it.
