486. Analyzing Trump Assassination Attempt W/SEAL Team 6 Operator

·1 hr 19 min·5 clips

A Navy SEAL says the Secret Service's failure to control a roof 130 yards from Trump was a 'basic day one' mistake that led to the shooting.

The episode begins with host Jeff delivering a monologue on cultural engagement from a 'gospel-driven' perspective. He introduces the topic: analyzing the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump with guest Bill Rapier, a retired Navy SEAL from DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six). Jeff and co-host Zach share their personal experiences of hearing about the event. Rapier recounts learning of it while on a plane. The analysis focuses on security failures, with Rapier explaining that controlling high ground within line of sight is 'basic day one' tactical knowledge that was neglected. They review synced footage showing attendees warning police about the shooter on the roof minutes before the shots. Rapier criticizes communication failures between law enforcement agencies. A theological segment discusses God's sovereignty over the event, framing the near-miss as providence, not divine intervention. The conversation shifts to broader cultural critiques, blaming DEI hiring for compromising Secret Service quality, citing an agent improperly sweeping colleagues with her firearm. Rapier and the hosts argue against women in combat roles based on biblical gender roles. They mock the Secret Service director's explanation about a 'sloped roof' safety concern. Rapier suggests improvements like better comms interoperability and drone use. The interview concludes with a promotion for Rapier's company, Amtak Blades. In the final segment, Jeff reveals Apologia Church is leading a covert effort to defeat a ballot measure in Arizona that would legalize abortion, appealing for financial support and prayer.
