The invitation came with the promise that there would be a healer there. He says he did not believe that claim. He remembers Lloyd Bustard as the evangelist who was preaching that day. He recalls sitting in the back in his white midshipman uniform, the kind he hated because it got dirty so easily. The sermon ends in prayer, asking that believers be open vessels, do God's will, love God, love neighbor, and stay ready for the coming rapture.
