A Date With Dateline · Kimberly and Katie - ADWDL

The Widow of Woodland Hills S.33 Ep.23

DNA from the crime scene matches the weird memorial guest, a sex offender with a porn career.
April 12th gets its moment in the cold open. Kimberly and Katie start by playing with the show title until it lands on National Dateline Day, then move through housekeeping for the Jog for Justice fundraiser, Season of Justice, and cold cases for victims' families. The case title throws them right away. The Widow of Woodland Hills does not feel subtle to them. It feels like the titles department leaning over and whispering the answer. Monica comes in through recordings. Detectives give her information, then listen to what she tells a cellmate afterward. That is where Rob becomes the trapdoor in the story. Monica shifts fast. Rob was not just a friend in this version. He was her lover and confidant, and her husband's travel schedule somehow gets used as the reason for the affair. Kimberly and Katie are not having it. When detectives say they know Rob was involved in the murder, Monica gives a stiff, contraction-free denial. The hosts treat it like pure stage acting. If she will not use contractions, they are happy to let grammar put on a tiny badge and join the case. Then Rob makes everything stranger. In 2023, he changes his plea to no contest, so the obvious guess is that he has cut a deal and plans to flip. Wrong direction. He shows up as a witness for Monica's defense, which sends the recap into disbelief and a detour about whether IQ bars could help him. The ad break does not really cool things down. Mushroom coffee, lion's mane, hazelnut, and jitter-free productivity drift through while Rob's choices stay warm in the background. By the end, Chat GTP, fake Bob's Burgers plots, fake Dateline episodes, and a possible catchphrase all stack up before the hosts snap back to the case.

As heard by us
