"The Way", Weekend 1 - After the Movie Q&A Session with David Hoffmeister

·1 hr 38 min·5 clips

Marie from Portugal asks why a 'tiny mad idea' crept into eternity, causing a student to scream in anger during a talk.

This episode is a Q&A session with David Hoffmeister following a movie screening, focusing on A Course in Miracles (ACIM) teachings. It begins with a question from Marie in Portugal about a confusing line from ACIM Chapter 27 regarding a 'tiny mad idea' creeping into eternity, which David explains as a story for the sleeping mind, not to be understood intellectually. He emphasizes that irritation stems from fear and that ACIM teaches the separation never happened. David discusses how understanding is not required for practice, contrasting the ego's linear approach with Jesus's call to experience peace first. Ana Narcisa shares her struggle with forgiveness, particularly regarding an ex-boyfriend with narcissistic behavior, questioning whether to set boundaries. David responds by explaining projection, rejection, and judgment, suggesting that guidance from the Holy Spirit replaces personal boundaries. He references Jesus's lack of boundaries and the importance of prayer in encounters. The episode includes a story about the publication of ACIM, where Helen Shuckman, Bill Thetford, Ken Wapnick, and Judy Skutch prayed together, made a commitment, and received funding from Red in Mexico. Carolina recounts a jail visit where she unexpectedly met Sandra, the owner of a daycare where her daughter was burned in a 2009 fire, seeing her with forgiveness. Charles asks about stabilizing peace and the concept of the script being written, leading David to discuss transcending linear time. Diana shares her experience of forgiving her mother after her death, paralleling Jesus's crucifixion. The session concludes with reflections on Easter and resurrection themes.
