10-31 INTERVIEW Sam Neidermann Voice of the NDSU Bison
November 3, 2025·3 min
Sam Niedermann is introduced as the voice of the NDSU Bison and a regular guest on the Bo and Megan morning show on 1069 The Eagle in Fargo, with the segment sponsored by Pendleton Whiskey. The segment opens on Halloween with Sam coming into studio to discuss the previous Saturday's Dakota Marker game between NDSU and SDSU. NDSU won 38-7 in Brookings, a result Sam describes as the Bison steamrolling their rivals. He says his favorite image from the game was watching SDSU fans begin leaving in the middle of the third quarter as the deficit grew. He describes the scene progressing from students to parents and older fans all filing out, calling it a Bison takeover. The conversation shifts to the upcoming home game against Youngstown State, which Sam notes is a welcome return after NDSU spent much of October on the road. Sam points out that Youngstown State has a quarterback named Bo Brungard, and jokes about the quality of the name for a football player, comparing it to NDSU quarterback Cole Payton. He acknowledges Youngstown is a playoff-contending team fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive, making them a motivated opponent. Despite this, Sam says he has searched for a flaw in the NDSU team and cannot find one. He praises Cole Payton's play this season and predicts NDSU will win by a few touchdowns. Bo jokes about being put in a Bison uniform, and the segment ends warmly with Halloween wishes and a go-bison sendoff.
